This waterproof LED dog collar is a USB rechargeable light-up collar that turns your dog into the most visible thing on the street. The soft PVC tube glows evenly around its entire circumference, so drivers, cyclists and other walkers can see your dog from a long way off — from any angle, not just head-on. One collar length fits every dog: you simply trim the band to your dog's neck with scissors.

Why a glowing collar beats a clip-on light

  • Light all the way around. A pendant light points one direction. This collar glows 360°, so your dog stays visible whether they are facing you, running away, or crossing in front of a car.
  • Three modes from one button. Fast flash to grab attention near traffic, slow flash to save power, and steady glow for calm off-leash time in the park.
  • Rechargeable, so it never dies on you. Charge it over USB from a laptop, power bank or phone charger. No coin cells to hunt down.
  • Cut-to-fit, not one-size-fits-none. The 65 cm band trims down for a Chihuahua and stays long for a Great Dane.
  • Rain-ready. The sealed PVC tube shrugs off rain, snow, puddles and muddy paws, and wipes clean in seconds.
  • Soft and quiet. ABS and PVC construction stays flexible in the cold instead of going stiff, and there is no jingling hardware.

How to fit and use it

  1. Measure. Wrap the collar around your dog's neck where a normal collar sits and slide one or two fingers underneath — that gap is the comfort allowance you want to keep.
  2. Cut. Open the clasp and trim the excess band with household scissors at the marked cutting line on the side of the tube.
  3. Reassemble. Pull the end cap off the offcut and push it back into the freshly cut opening until it seats fully.
  4. Buckle up. Snap the quick-release buckle closed. It opens with one squeeze when you take the collar off.
  5. Choose a mode. Press the button once for fast flash, twice for slow flash and three times for a constant glow. Press again to switch it off.

Size guide — one length, cut to any dog

The collar arrives at 65 cm (25.6 in) and is trimmed down at home, so there is no size to get wrong. Measure your dog's neck first, then cut off what you do not need.

Dog size Typical neck Example breeds Roughly how much to trim
Small 20–30 cm / 8–12 in Chihuahua, Dachshund, Toy Poodle, Yorkie About 30–40 cm
Medium 30–45 cm / 12–18 in Beagle, Cocker Spaniel, Border Collie, Corgi About 15–30 cm
Large 45–60 cm / 18–24 in Labrador, German Shepherd, Husky, Doberman A few centimetres or none

Measure loosely rather than tight — leaving two fingers of slack keeps the collar comfortable and means you are not cutting it too short. Cut conservatively: you can always trim more, but you cannot add length back.

Who this collar is for

If you walk your dog before sunrise or after dark, live on or near a road without pavements, have a dog with dark fur that disappears at night, or let your dog off the leash in unlit parks and fields, this is the cheapest safety upgrade you can make. It is also popular with owners of senior dogs who wander, and with anyone who has spent five nervous minutes scanning a dark field for a black Labrador.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the battery last on one charge?

Expect several hours of continuous light per charge. Flashing modes last noticeably longer than steady glow because the LEDs are off part of the time, so choose slow flash if you want to stretch a charge across a whole evening of walks.

How long does it take to charge?

Plug the micro USB cable into any standard USB port and leave it until the indicator shows it is full — typically one to two hours from empty. The housing is designed not to heat up while charging.

Can my dog swim or bathe in it?

No. The collar is rain and splash resistant, which covers wet walks, snow, puddles and muddy fields, but it is not rated for swimming or being held underwater. Take it off before your dog goes in a lake or the bath.

Is cutting it really safe? Won't it stop working?

Yes, it is designed to be cut. Trim only at the marked line on the side of the tube, then push the end cap back in. The LEDs run through the whole tube, so the shortened collar still glows along its full remaining length.

Will it fit a puppy or a very small dog?

It will. Trim the band down to your puppy's neck measurement and keep the offcut in mind — as they grow you will need a longer collar, so on a fast-growing puppy it is worth cutting generously at first.

Can I use it as their everyday collar with an ID tag?

It works as a visible walking collar, but it has no D-ring, so you cannot clip a leash to it and it is not intended to hold the weight of a tag. Most owners wear it alongside their dog's normal collar and use it purely for visibility.

What does the colour-changing option do?

The "Colorful Collar" version cycles through several LED colours instead of glowing in one fixed colour. The band itself is white when the light is off, so it looks neutral in daylight.

Will it work for cats?

Cats can wear a trimmed-down version, but a cat collar should always have a breakaway safety catch, and this one does not. For cats we recommend a purpose-built breakaway reflective cat collar instead.

Is it noisy or heavy?

No. The tube is lightweight PVC with no metal buckle or dangling parts, so there is nothing to rattle. Most dogs stop noticing it within a walk or two.

How is this different from your fibre optic collar?

This model is a thicker PVC tube with individual LEDs and a rain-resistant seal, so it is the brighter, tougher choice for wet climates and bigger dogs. The fibre optic LED collar uses a light-guiding tube for a smoother, more even glow and comes in fixed S, M and L sizes.
